In this example he might be correct and the market indeed would take care of it in the end if a business decided to opt out of handwashing.

But it wouldn't happen immediately and there would certainly be many that got sick or died before the market took care of that business. Hell there are businesses that bleed money for years before ultimately going belly up. The people that would be harmed in the meantime don't count in the GOP

Flint is a perfect example of money meaning more than people to the GOP. Eventually the market (voters) will correct the complete fuckup they currently have for governor but it will be long after a whole lot of damage is already done.
