I like to listen to a few songs on my iPod before I go to sleep and do a little meditation, so I was on about the second song when the bed started shaking. At first I thought it was the dog who sleeps with us, but when I reached over to touch her, she wasn't scratching or anything, so then I realized what was going on. The next thing I know, the mirror is falling off the wall and everything is rocking and rolling. It finally stopped and we got up and cleaned up the glass. I guess there have been a bunch of aftershocks, but after a jolt like that, you don't even notice the little ones.

My brother lives in Homer, directly across Cook Inlet from the epicenter, and he sounded pretty terrified from his FB post. All kinds of stuff fell off their walls and out of their cupboards. He has to clean up a gallon of olive oil.
