More than three weeks later, they want to take their guns and their bombs with them and "Hey G-men, let's just forget the whole thing, mmmkay?"

There was a magazine cartoon I saw many years ago (National Lampoon?): Guy in a t-shirt, holding a gun while looking out an upper-floor window. He's in a seedy-looking apartment, bullet holes in the wall, stacks of cash sitting on the cheap bed behind him. He's holding up a bill and yelling down to the cops, "Here's twenty bucks that says let's forget the whole thing."
