Wow, what a night. Regarding domestic abuse and cop's reaction... [View all]

Since my home burned down in a fire I have been living in an extended stay hotel. For the last six months. Hasn't been easy but has been relatively cheap.

For the most part, it has been uneventful. But tonight was different.

I had a craving for Wafflehouse hash browns that could not be denied so I left for them. I walked down the hall towards the exit of the hotel and couldn't help but notice an argument between a man and a woman from one of the rooms. An hour later, I returned to hear the same but accentuated with slaps and punching sounds.

I returned to my room and called security and had to leave a recording. I then left my room again to check on the sounds and found the security guard doing maintenance. He said , "Don't worry, go back to your room."

Anyway, I don't feel like typing the bullshit that happened right after and in between in detail, but this is how it ended.

I went back to my room and threw on my old biker jacket which still smells like smoke and went to the room where I had been hearing the slaps, hits and muffled screams.

I knocked lightly on the door and before I could announce myself... It opened.

"Hey, guys. Everything okay?" I asked. "I'm a neighbor and the resident biker and was worried."

(I didn't want to say that I was a 63 year old guy with heart disease that might drop dead at any moment)

The skinhead opened the door and invited me in and I'll be goddamned if I didn't go in.

I bullshitted my way through five minutes until the cops came which I was hoping to happen and then watched them only have to leave the property. It was all about keeping the owners clear and avoiding paperwork on a non political crime.

I'm so sick of living here.
