I spent some time in Dubuque and was amazed by what an awesome city it is. I had never heard much about Iowa but it is a pretty great place. I have gone to Iowa a few more times since and every time I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.
It is not demographically typical of the US - it has a much higher white population than the US as a whole. That means the results of the Iowa Caucuses are not necessarily what we will see elsewhere. And I do question why two of the whitest states in the union have such a huge say in the election process.
However, I do not think Iowa is anything but a delightful place, based on my experiences there.

Try being from the south...Democrat and Progressive labels are reserved for North and West Coast.
