They think it is cute to draw parallels with Democrat and rat.

To be fair, I think we on the left look just as stupid with things like RepubliCON and the like.
If the worst thing about Limbaugh was this tid bit of idiocy, I think he would still be very popular instead of a fading foot note in history.

History is moving on Rush, and the great cocktail party of fame and relevance is moving with it...you're just no longer invited to stay on board...and THAT is awesome cosmic retribution that makes the verbal gymnastics and foolishness so great. You no longer matter (if you ever REALLY did at all).

And that is the best thing for these blowhards...they never really believed 50% of their own tripe, but they 100% needed the adulation to feel good about themselves. Just look at Limbaugh as a case of karmic retribution done right.
