In reply to the discussion: Quit Complaining About Mayor Bloomberg’s Soda Ban, Fatsos [View all]jumptheshadow
(3,315 posts)106. This became Libertarian Underground...
...When industries started hiring people as sock puppets to write on internet boards. While a truly objective person can be against the ban, they should read and do research if they want to speak intelligently about it.
Also, the same people who bemoan the excesses wrought by junk food marketing, or the stranglehold that big money has over all of our institutions, are now complaining about a move that curbs that influence. The same people who probably understood the message of "Super Size Me" are griping about a law that doesn't affect a person's freedom. You are still free to drink as much soda as you want. You probably will think twice about doing it.

The ban doesn't apply to non-sugar or diet drinks. So it shouldn't affect your sharing.

Medical sources say that's not true. No insulin response like one for sugar. nt

because the rationale for the ban is specious; thus the ban is specious & arbitrary.

Sodas are disgusting. I haven't had one in over 15 years. My beer is subject to all sorts of rules.
