An uninformed populous is easier to control. There is less accountability and retribution for the rich and powerful to commit crimes. Flint Michigan and the people who have been impacted and the failing infrastructure should be news all the time. News should not be entertaning. It should inform. All they cover are Donald Trump's sneezes and Hillary Clinton's coughs. Ever time all the time. Climate change is rarely mentioned by media outlets with large viewerships. Attacks on unions has never been higher. The unions are the common man's lobbyists. Weekends off. Vacation days. The end to child labor are just a few of the things that came about because of union lobbying and others speaking out. We are all beneficiaries of these things even though all workers are not in unions. Before modern media, print was king. They sensationalize but also realized the importance of freedom of the press.The powerful want to keep us uninformed, without a voice and beholding to them for the crumbs they trickle down to us. Our time in history is going to be one hell of a ride.
