When the Malheur standoff was coming to a close the other day, I spent the morning listening to the live feed and refreshing an Oregon newspaper link on Twitter to find out what was going on. I had MSNBC on, occasionally switching to CNN, and both barely mentioned it. It was all Trump, Trump, Trump, Hillary, Trump, Trump, Rubio, Trump, Trump, Trump...you get the idea. Here we had real news happening right then and they spent ALL day covering the primaries even though there wasn't really anything primary related happening that day.

That evening, NBC lead the nightly news with the Malheur story. How could it be the TOP story on the nightly news and barely covered, AS IT WAS HAPPENING, on their sister channel all day?

You know what kills me? When they end the nightly news by telling you about some story they will be covering on the show tomorrow. If you can tell me today what you will be talking about tomorrow it is, pretty much by definition, NOT NEWS!
