...Police Unions exist to protect criminal cops and they support Republicans. I would be more empathetic toward Police Unions if they actually supported Democrats and Liberal causes, then one might assume that we could reason with them and come to some common ground. However, not only do they protect criminal cops, they crawl into the bed with our enemy? Not acceptable.

Here is an Atlantic article, where Conor Friedersdorf discusses the problem. He presents numerous cases where the Unions have helped killer and criminal cops get put back on the force AFTER being fired for their conduct.

There is no mistaking the fact that Police Unions are our enemy, we need look no further than their constant support of Republicans. It is one of the few Unions Scott Walker actually supported in Wisconsin. (Gee, wonder why?)

From the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel:

Almost all other state worker unions had their bargaining authority stripped under Walker's signature legislation known as 2011 Act 10 and then had their members' take-home pay reduced by roughly 10% because of cuts to health care and pension benefits.

The State Patrol union was spared both of those blows and still negotiated a roughly 17% pay increase for its members in a contract with the Walker administration.

It's time to figure out who your enemies are, learn how they play the game, and either play to win or get off the field.
