Some people are just not cut out to be parents... [View all]

Some are so stupid I wonder how they remember to breathe or eat.

Child hospitalized after eating pot candies in Sheboygan

A 3-year-old child was hospitalized after eating candies containing THC, the main component of marijuana that causes people to get high, according to Sheboygan Police.

On Sunday, officers were called to Sheboygan Aurora Memorial Medical Center for the report of a child who was “minimally responsive.”

Tests revealed THC in the child’s system, police said. The child was transferred to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

Investigators say the family had a birthday party on the previous day in which people were using marijuana. The child’s father left some THC-laced candies on a table in the house within reach of children, police say.

The parents discovered the candies were missing and assumed the child had eaten them.

The child’s 28-year-old father was arrested on a charge of Child Neglect Causing Bodily Harm

The 25-year-old mother is facing a charge of Obstructing, according to Sheboygan Police.

The father had obtained the pot candies from Colorado, where marijuana is legal.
