6. We had a very similar experience on New Year's Eve a couple of years ago.

We went to a well know Aussie restaurant. And had the same experience. After we did order our server was obviously afraid to come to our table so we flagged her down and made it clear that we recognized the problem. She said the manager sent people home and they were understaffed all around. When we left we gave her a very good tip and she started to cry. We wrote the regional office and complained about the under staffing.
