What we're doing about firearms in our society is clearly not working. People are wantonly killing themselves and others, "accidentally" maiming relatives and neighbors, and demonstrating lethal stupidity in the care and handling of firearms. We have the legal framework to institute reasonable regulation of the manufacture and possession of firearms, and to hold accountable people who misuse them (criminally and financially).
When someone says that we shouldn't do anything, I hear a selfish person who values having a firearm above the lives of others, and that's just fucked up.
