(60,208 posts)i think HRC is the odds on favorite, but it would be nice to wait for a defacto winner JUST as happened in every other year. In 2004, Kerry was far more dominant and the big states were earlier, but even on the eve of the election day where he became the de facto nominee by mathematically getting 50%, Daily Kos was still pushing John Edwards ... and even a month later, Carville was dreaming of a brokered convention on his and Begala's show with HRC saving the day.
In 2008, the race was closer, but neither DU or Daily Kos went to General election footing until a month after the last primary.
Why is this year different than all other years? Why did a huge percent of the superdelegates declare their support of HRC? Why are most of the charts including superdelegates - even as some HRC supporters - like Senator Leahy - saying they will not vote against the winner of the pledged delegates? Seriously, the party and the media are treating HRC almost as an incumbent President -- with an annoying, irrelevant intra party challenge.
