Or whatever kind of tape it is people use when hurricanes are forecast in their areas. Of course, that requires adequate advance warning. It wasn't some heavy object blown into your window and breaking it because you mentioned the screen was still intact.
This has made me think about how I'd respond. I'd close the cellular, insulating blinds I have on all the windows on the windward side of my house - think they'd absorb or deflect broken glass. (Now if I were a One Percenter, I'd have custom-made, shatter proof windows installed.)
Again, glad you were not injured!

Do you have another set of sheets? Tiny slivers of glass will have worked into the fabric.
