We should not hide threads just because we disagree with the opinion expressed even if it does seem divisive or harsh to us.
If we can't take a spirited, sometimes divisive or harsh discussion, we should not join in the political debate on a site named Democratic Underground.
If the whole discussion is to be utterly harmonious, then why is it "underground." Underground suggests that we question the status quo and the standard accepted truisms, that we question authority, that we stand for freedom of speech and thought.
This primary seems to have brought out a lot of fearful authoritarians who dare not let others disagree. It's too "divisive" for them. They prefer to suppress thought that does not agree with their own.
It's on both sides.
Let's be more tolerant of each other. I'm not sure what post Nance Greggs was talking about, but we need a lot more tolerance on both sides of the primary.
