7. At least Cruz doesn't have the massive and violent groupies Trump does. But he won't be the guy.

Unless perhaps they pair him with some sort of establishment type that the bosses absolutely love to the extent that it overshadows their disdain for Cruz.

But as scary as Cruz's ideology is, he's not getting the massive and violent crowds that Trump's getting. And Cruz has burned so many bridges with the GOP that any support of him by the party will be so tepid, they'll be in no hurry to get behind him.

So, yes, as crazy as it sounds, I'd rather the unsavory possibility of Cruz as the nominee over Trump. Barely. Very barely.

But it will more likely be Paul Ryan or someone similar who they foist up instead.
