If there was a fire in your neighborhood and firefighters came with the best equipment to put it out, that's your tax dollars. If you opened and ate a can of peaches and didn't die of botulism, the canning regulations are your tax dollars. If you lost your job and collected unemployment, visited a workforce center, that's your tax dollars.
