(110,168 posts)83. I hurt my knee a couple years ago and the recumbent bike at the PT
was the best thing ever. It was like sitting on a padded leather dining room chair.
Afterwards, when I went to buy my own, I couldn't get one quite that comfy (unless I wanted to spend 4 or 5 times as much), but at least I knew what to aim for.
So I'd recommend you do some research, sit on some bikes to see how they feel, and then watch the sales at stores around you. A recumbent bike could be a big help, even with the arthritis.
