In reply to the discussion: Can we stop calling him "Drumpf"? [View all]Kalidurga
(14,177 posts)I don't agree with it. For many of the reasons given here.
When I first saw people using Donald Drumpf I thought it was one of those names that a parent heard their child use. I had no idea this was his family name from how ever far back. It was after someone posted a video of their child saying "I don't want Donald Dumpf to win, that is how the kid pronounced his name, he is five. So, I see Drumpf and I think it's another cute kid pronunciation of the name. I thought it was kind of childish, but cute in the way only a five year old can be. Then I started seeing the real story behind the name and I am fully behind the logic of calling him Drumpf. People have nationalities pointing them out isn't racist unless you start ascribing traits and insinuating that they are inferior because of that race. I am pretty sure anyone from any race can be a short fingered vulgarian or a talking yam. Bullies like Drumpf don't stop being bullies just because you play nice with them. So, I won't be playing nice. I am a kind of an in your face kind of person I know I come of as being uber nice, but that's because most people are nice to me.
