(2,248 posts)Especially the fact that he feels the poor children need to learn a work ethic. What utter bullshit. What about all the rich kids whose parents have landscapers and gardeners? Did they ever shovel snow off their driveways? Did they get blisters from raking leaves? Did they have to pitch in and clean their houses while their parents were at work?
Maybe the rich kids need to be forced to work so THEY learn a wok ethic. Then maybe they won't grow up to be republican pigs who don't have a clue.
I'm not poor, but when I was younger, I did work my way thru college in all sorts of jobs, the kind of jobs that the working poor have. I never saw a group of people work harder. That experience made me realize that the poor are not poor because they're lazy. It's all circumstance.
