32. Say what you will about the Enquirer but...

...as has been mentioned, they were first on the scene with John Edwards. IIRC they were also the first to break the Gary Hart story and they were very early (possibly first) with Jennifer Flowers.

They're a sleazeball rag not fit for wrapping week old fish. That said, they do seem to dot their i's and cross their t's when it comes to sex reporting. Several have said they must be pretty sure of themselves to include pictures of the women. This isn't just some "he had sex with 5 women" story...it's "he had sex with THESE 5 women". Much more specific and, likely from a legal perspective, much more demanding of verifiable support. Unfortunately, his external persona feels consistent with this kind of behavior -

I hope for Heidi's sake, this turns out to be one of the few, if only, high profile accusations that they have wrong. I hope for the country's sake, they're right again and we can ensure he doesn't stain our future with his sanctimonious holier than thou view of the world.
