I recall awhile ago watching a documentary about some US forces in Iraq. Some special forces team was pinned down and surrounded by enemies, and they basically called in airstrikes directly over them. Some of them were wounded in it, but were not killed. But it could have went much worse for them if the pilots were off just a little.

It seems very plausible that this Russian soldier could have died during a similar situation. Do they spin it a bit? Maybe. But that's nothing unusual. Either way, the solider was killed fighting ISIS and I think he deserves to be honored for that. I'm not going simply assume it's all bullshit just 'cause it's Russia. If some evidence of it being completely fabricated comes out, then by all means go after it, but until then I'm going assume it's at least somewhat based on reality.
