(57,936 posts)If he didn't want Wisconsin Democrats to try to recall Walker, he should have said so. Failing to support Wisconsin Democrats once they were holding their petition drive was a huge failure on his part.
Give 'em Hell Harry (Truman) would have spoken his mind early on. It takes courage to be honest. If Obama did not want to support the recall, if he didn't think it was a good idea, he should have said so.
If he did think it was a good idea, he should have supported it -- fully and dramatically.
As it is, nobody really knows how he felt or what he thought about the recall. All they know is that the recall was a dramatic moment, that Wisconsin Democrats were in the national spotlight, and that the Democrats lost.
That is not good for Obama. Not good at all.
