But he seems to be impervious to the sort of controversies that plague other politicians. The problem that his campaign is built around hatred of everyone but white men so making being a woman illegal may not penalize him. Of course it will hurt him in the general election, but the GOP primary is a whole other world.

Then there is the fact that Cruz is the one who would benefit from such a decline. I think he is a more predictable candidate for the Democrats to run against, so if your predictions are true, it may turn out to be good for the Democratic Party.
