Keeps your hands clean
Doesn't transfer any unwanted germs from your hands to your mouth
Allows you to more thoughtfully chew your food (they say most people don't chew as much as they should, something about the saliva delivering more enzymes to better help digest food)
Cons:
People make fun of you... I think that's the only con.
