(39,909 posts)81. You have it ass backwards.
It is the candidate's JOB to motivate the voters.
If the voters are not motivated to turn out and vote, it is ALWAYS a Failure of Leadership.
Blaming the voters is a recipe for continued failures.
If the "leaders" have the moral courage to truthfully examine their own failures, THEN something can be done, but to just blame the voters, shrug your shoulders, walk away, and do the same thing next election is STUPID.
It is EZ being Blue in a Blue State. All you have to do is follow the crowd.
In 2006, my wife and I moved from Big Blue Minneapolis to dark Red Rural Arkansas,
and have carried the fight to the front lines.
Due to the low population density, our vote weighs much more than it ever did in Minneapolis.
In 2008, 1 out of 3 people up in these old mountains voted for "the Black Guy"".
It wouldn't take much to flip our district.
Of course, you can just relax on your high horse and insult all the good, courageous, hard fighting Democrats who are working to change things.
I don't have much respect for those hollering insults from the peanut gallery.
Come join us in the front lines.
The South is BEAUTIFUL, and belongs to us all.
