Jun 2012

As I posted on another thread, I have a bad habit of trying to make the best of a sucky situation as a way of dealing with it, but... if Walker had been kicked out of office, 1) there wouldn't have been the same glaring argument against big money in politics (i.e., if he'd been defeated despite an 8:1 spending ratio), and 2) Democrats control the Senate, so SUCK IT, WALKER, and 3) when he's indicted, it will have huge reverberations in the context of his having kept his office with the help of big donors, and of course of his being a sitting governor rather than a sad man who had left politics involuntarily anyway. So while it sucks in a big way that he won, in the big picture it might be okay after all.
