(1,727 posts)statements that he made about immigrants. His support is fueled primary by hate and the fact that he won't apologize for articulating his hate in the most obnoxious manner imaginable.
I'd like to say that I'm surprised by some of the obtuse comments RE racism in the Republican base here, but I'm not after some of the tensions that have bubbled over here recently RE race issues in the primary.
It's not the only reason, but it's a major motivating factor for the rage that's been bubbling up in large parts of the country during the time that Obama's been in office.
Anybody who's denying it is either being dishonest or living inside of a bubble somewhere in an insular, left-leaning community where they haven't had to deal with the river of shit that's been overflowing since the '08 campaign.
