67. I think the racism is just an excuse. The hatred is really because he's a Democrat.

Don't forget that their opposition is political at it's core. His race doesn't really matter. His policies don't really matter. It's simply the fact that the Republicans wanted one of their own in the White House and Obama took it away from them.

It's about power.

Their attacks have a large component of racism simply because their constituency is, for the most part, provincial and ignorant. And proud of it.

If Bernie gets in the White House, we'll be hearing a lot more innuendo disparaging Jews - not directly of course, that would be too distasteful and discomforting for "Good Christian" cloth-coated Republicans to take. And If Hillary gets is it'll be the same sexist crap we've been hearing from the VRWC for 30 yrs, but it will be amped up 1000 fold. And both are subject to the slander against being well-educated, urban elitists.

They did it with Carter, they did it with Bill Clinton, they've done it with Obama, and they'll do it with the next Democratic President, no matter who it is.
