And I have the feeling many adults would have struck the kid in retaliation. Just as a teacher, you really want the very last thing you ever do is punch a student. Anything is better then that. Even if you get hurt. The guy is lucky not to be in jail.

Sounds like he burnt out on teaching a long time ago.
