Prince Vs Michael Jackson [View all]

We all know both these guys were great and legends who wrote incredible songs and basically defined the 1980's and early 90's. They say both had the best concerts and live shows. I know this question has been around since the mid 1980's and I'm not downing either one with this but I was wondering who you you think was better or was your preferred artist?
For me I would say it was Prince. I was hooked on his music since I first heard When Doves Cry in the mid 90's. I was an 80's baby who went back and listened to his early stuff. He just sounded so diversified and could play just about any instrument and do any style. The he did the movies everyone says Purple Rain which was this monster album all by itself but I really enjoyed his work on the 1989 Batman soundtrack which made that movie feel bigger than it was. I was sad to hear of his passing because I grew up listening to him. Anyway these are just my thoughts feel free to add your own.

Do you think there would have been a Prince if no MJ? Jennylynn Apr 2016 #11
Probably they were contemporaries. There might not be Prince without James Brown and Stevie Wonder. craigmatic Apr 2016 #13
