4. Another untreated mental health patient that slipped through the cracks.

His father said that his son had a “mental breakdown.” He added that his son lives in the basement of his home and was convinced the world was going to end on June 3. His son was reported upset over the results of the his state's presidential primaries where Hillary Clinton won for the Democrats and Donald Trump for the GOP. Brizzi also tried to overdose on Aleve in 2012. His father, Ed Brizzi told WJZ news, "He’s 25 years old, so I can’t say ‘You’ve got to go into the hospital.’

Why not? There are ways of getting help for the mentally ill that don't require their consent, especially if he posed a danger to himself and others. Wouldn't his young man have healthcare covered by his parents policy until age 26? I don't understand why didn't this father do more to help his son instead of just being a passive observer. Why wasn't anyone helping this young man through the years that his mental health problems exacerbated to the point that he ends up in serious condition at a hospital after being shot by police three times and charged with serious crimes.
