about the economics of laptop vs pad, but the pad is easier to shlepp around and when I am bored (like waiting for my wife in a doctor's office, I can cruise my .pdf books with something easy to carry (I have a couple of pairs of Levis shorts where it fits in the cargo pocket).

My tablet is used primarliy as an ereader. I've got about 6000 books in pdf format on it.
