If it weren't for the terrifying prospect of losing their precious access to Trump, I'd like to believe that the gatekeepers of our public discourse in the popular media would ask Trump all kinds of questions on these subjects.

But they're just so thrilled when the phone rings and HE is on the line. Mustn't risk losing that!
