party realignments take at times decades. This has been in that vein. It really started with the rise of the DLC in the 1990s, and however they change their spots, they are neo liberals. The dems are now a center right party, the Rs are a far right, nationalist, fascist party. Somebody like Sanders will come in the future, but not as a Dem, or at least I will not see to see the realignment back.
