8. Romney was Trump's template

After Trump dropped out in 2012, I'm sure he was just kicking himself when Romney not only refused to release any but his most recent his tax returns, and the media gave him a pass on the whole thing. "Geez, I didn't know you could do that!"

Of particular interest to the public, Romney's returns prior to 2010 might have shown how he sheltered his retirement fund (over $100 million) from taxes. But we never found out, and the media weren't terribly interested.
