I flew El Al last October and they wouldn't even let me bring my carry on bag on the plane with me. I had to check it (now, does that even make sense?). When I unpacked in Tel Aviv and back in NY, I had a lovely note from the airline that they had gone through my bag manually. And you know what, I didn't care. I knew I was safe flying El Al.
