US ignores Pakistanis’ feelings about drone attacks: Analyst [View all]

Pentagon chief Leon Panetta has said the US would continue its drone attacks in Pakistan despite complaints from Islamabad that the strikes violate its sovereignty.

The US defense secretary claimed on Wednesday that the attacks help the US defend itself against what he called terrorist threats.

Washington claims the raids target militants but locals say that civilians are the majority of the victims of the attacks. The Pakistani public is outraged over the attacks.

Press TV talks with Liaghat Ali Khan, a professor at Washburn University from Topeka, Kansas, to discuss the issue further.
