It is so totally untrue. He was a bigot, a hater, his policies killed those kids at Kent State.
I think the only reason people say that is because of the EPA and he was pressured into that by overwhelming support and the fact that the rivers were on fire. He said that the only reason he supported it was because he was afraid the Congress would force and even more
liberal legislation on him. He instituted wage and price controls only for political manipulation, not because he believed it would work.
I bet you picked up that "Nixon was more liberal than Obama", not from the right, but some of the Obama critics here at DU.
