According to what her husband was probably telling her at the time, for all she knew, those women were lying…And it's conceivable-- with all the attacks and conspiracies whirling at a high profile couple in power, that these accusations were just part of those made-up conspiracies designed to take them down…

So it's kind of a forgivable lapse of judgement on her part when you put it all together…Bill was probably lying to her, it's conceivable it was all just made up by their political opponents, etc...
