And color me pleasantly surprised. I figured the usual script would be followed: The sheriff would come out, cluck sympathetically, and tell everyone how unfortunate the whole incident was, acknowledge the justifiable distress and anger of the community, but conclude that no one could be charged because no laws were broken.

I'm not clear from the ABC story how many students had weapons at Southside High, but it seems that at least two of them did.
