(752 posts)I'm sure as the population becomes more 'brown' for a lack of a better term, the government will reflect the changes. I looked at Minnesota's voting percentages by race and found that there were at most 2/3 eligible voters voting from all subgroup. Asians had the lowest turnout reading the information I found. Even with Minnesota's high turnout, minorities don't have the population base to make immediate change.
The power structure in this country is definitely white. But these white people maintain authority through the social and political systems that keep us all down, including many old white guys like myself.
So it appears that working to build inclusive communities, funding education and voter turnout are the keys to enacting change.
Pointing fingers, regardless the ethnicity, is a complete waste of time.
