You don't broad-brush about everyone because ONE nitwit makes an ass of himself. You don't broad-brush even if hundreds of nitwits make asses of themselves.

It's like quoting those Tea Party assholes and coming to the faulty conclusion that all human beings--bar none-- are horrible creatures not worthy of drawing another breath, simply because a subset of 'em are assholes.

You're going to meet jerks in this world. Refute them on the merits of their stupid arguments, don't broad-brush. Otherwise, the implication is that your arguments are weak, even when they are not.
