Comcast always has a local phone number that goes directly to a customer or technical service person in the US - usually right in your area. It's not always easy to get that number, but next time a service person actually comes to your house, ask him or her for the local number. It's the one the service person calls. It's not an 800 number. It's a local number.

Here in the Twin Cities, it is 222-3333, regardless of your area code. I don't know what it is elsewhere. When I've called it, the service improved measurably.
