their home countries, just as the Dalai Lama cannot return to his.

He's been welcomed nearly everywhere else, though. Seems like he could be a bit more generous of spirit.

What those refugees would face were they to return would not favorably underscore the Dalai Lama's instinct for spiritual charity, IMO.
