but it goes to likeability, ultimately. and likeability is a well done driving force for voters. Back in 2000 there was a lot made about how much more likeable Bush was. It was well known Bush was not nearly as intelligent as Gore. The Farrell SNL impersonation was a thing of legend during the election. Yet Bush won (yeah, we all know he lost). But Bush was the guy "i want to have a beer with" and people not only looked past how dumb he was, they actually saw it as a virtue. He's a regular guy just like me!
