Just because you'd have to be horribly naive not to believe there;s a quid pro quo is not proof that there actually was a quid pro quo. As sophomoric second-year law students like to remind us, the law requires proof. Even the Supreme Shysters claimed that this kind of behavior doesn't allow one to conclude that there is even the appearance of impropriety. Wherever I or anyone else brought up this issue where it concerned a certain other candidate for president who, like Ms. Bondi, was on the receiving end of the deal and suggested that candidate was corrupt, we were accused of "smearing" that candidate and that we had no proof that she was corrupt.
So please, let's not rush to any judgments about Ms. Bondi's ethics.
