60. Careful with the "anti-left-bs" BS...

The GMO debate is not the anti-vaccine equivalent. GE has tremendous potential, but 99.99% of the $$ is NOT going into research for new diseases or breakthru therapies. It's how Big Agra gets to own all the food. We have had NO independently funded research on the concerns of non-industry geneticists regarding new toxic proteins, gene instability, new allergens, environmental contamination. Well, that last we DO have... new generations of super-weeds and super-pests, ourselves and our biosphere being the laboratory, but the experiment is being run by the lawyers as a test of their liability protection legal constructs.

Those who rightly questioned the oil industry scientists who still vigorously push the climate change denying arguments, seem to unquestioningly embrace the industry-backed scientists on widespread and reckless use of GMO farming... with the utterly predictable consequences of superweeds and superpests (wow! they discovered evolution!).

On another topic, the science is more on the side of a vegan diet than intrusive conventional medical procedures for heart disease and many cancers. But that doesn't make anyone rich.
