I think that's plausible. That's certainly the smart strategy, if you mean calibrate his inflammatory language more carefully. Certainly that's the challenge of whoever the RNC is sending to his camp--sell the idea to Trump that he quit alienating swing voters without triggering his inner spoiled toddler. At some point, Trump will be close enough to the goal that he might start to listen to reason. And then, yes, he will change his tone ever so slightly.
The idea, expressed by most DUers in this thread, that Trump is mentally incapable of adjusting to circumstances reveals a dangerous over confidence on our side.
